J.J. and his pot bellied pandora!

Another hi profile blasphemy case has emerged in Pakistan and this time it's none other than our very own Junaid Jamshed! The chart topper of times not so long ago and the heart throb of millions of teenage girls (and perverted middle aged men)
Social media pages have been flooded with hateful messages against and pictures of Junaid Jamshed a.k.a. J.J. (also the name of this famous clothing line with outlets spread all across Pakistan) With a public apology, in the form of a video recorded message where J.J. cries and begs for forgiveness, the public has been divided upon the issue as to whether J.J. should be excused or should face the similar fate as those who have been charged with allegedly committing blasphemy in the past.
When I first got to  see the video in which J.J. narrates a story about one of the wives of The Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) in not-so polite words, the thing that immediately and actually offended me was the fact that he labelled all of the women as being inherently maleficent and vile. He states and I quote that, "Even the company of Prophets can not change the women."
This is not the first time that he has said such things regarding the female gender. He once said, in one of his many (and very lucrative) TV appearances, that women should not be allowed to drive cars on their own. In another incident reported a few weeks back on Fb, he allegedly went abroad for preaching, for which he charged around $15,000 (please note here that J.J. also states in his apology video that he is neither a scholar nor an authority on religious matters) and of course traveled first class on the expense of the people who invited him over for the sermons. The invitees however were sorely disappointed by the lectures delivered by 'Junaid Bhai' as all that he focused on during his speech was the well assumed fact that women are only capable of back biting and other such sinister practices. He even pointed at a young woman sitting in the front row saying that "You do back-bite don't you? All women do!"
A country like ours where pre-teen girls are given away as an atonement for the wrong doings of their brothers or cousins in the name of the custom of Wani. Where young girls are brutally slaughtered because they dare to exercise the right of marrying according to their own wish. Where women are still traded like commodities and given away as gifts. Where women are gang raped under the orders of a Jirga! In a country like ours, a learned man, supposedly converted by the righteous message of Islam and vowing to spend the rest of his life spreading the 'light' that he has received, a man appearing on multiple tv channels, delivering sermons to the masses and generating ratings worth of millions of bucks, saying such things about women is, to say the least, dangerous! The fact that his tone and words were indeed derogatory towards The Prophet's wife (pbuh) has angered and hurt even the non religious people all over the Muslim world. But the point that most of us are missing is that where it is extremely wrong to utter such words about a religious personality, it is also, if not equally, inappropriate to talk in derogatory terms about any female!
Whether we like it or not, the fact is that a lot of people in Pakistan and even abroad do idealize J.J. and what he says does effect them. If they pay handsomely for his first class travel and his sermons then they must also follow whatever he says. Now that is a huge responsibility and J.J. clearly could not handle it. If you think that you are not a scholar then why preach? If your excuse for uttering such vile stupidity is the fact that you are not an authority on religious matters and thus should be excused then why give sermons to people regarding religious matters, telling then what they should or should not do! Why telling men that the way to happiness is not to let their women drive and seal the fate of every woman by labeling her as a back biting, dark soul which can not be enlightened even by spending a life time with a Prophet!
While Mullahs of different religious parties are debating over whether J.J. should be pardoned or hanged, according to whatever suits their stance the best, I miss good old days when Junaid Jamshed used to copy western rock songs about nyphomaniac chics and converted them into patriotic songs! When he used to sing songs about the beauty and enchanted spirit of women and not spread hatred against them.
